The Hightower Trail Middle School Band is the primary feeder for the award-winning Pope High School Band, and has produced outstanding musicians since the school opened in 1993. The Band program consists of over 300 students in grades 6-8.
Band students consistently achieve Superior (I) ratings at GMEA District 12 Solo & Ensemble Evaluation, Band Evaluation (LGPE), and Jazz Band Evaluation. Band students also consistently earn chairs in GMEA District Honor Bands and All-State Bands.

Classes rehearse for 50 minutes daily. In 6th grade, students are placed in like-instrument classes. In 7th and 8th grade, students are placed in full bands.
Extracurricular opportunities include our Night of the Arts ensembles: Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Pops Ensemble. Directors are available for help sessions in the mornings (8:30-9:00 am).
